Epic

Leave it to Poe to keep it light.  At least Coco didn’t rip his tongue out and feed it to him.  :)

Dellaberculosis does seem to be a chronic problem doesn’t it.

???

I think he means DELIA-berculosis, a condition in which your nemesis screws with your life repeatedly. :)

It does seem to happen alot.

Of course Coco will point out the second and third problem(if she believes him)

That Tripp and Proxy already were mutually attracted, and even too much alcohol could in theory have done this.

Second there’s no guarantee with the love potion it wouldn’t happen again.

There’s no evidence to either support or disprove a theory that Tripp and Proxy would have done that merely with too much alcohol. But then, knowing Proxy and Tripp like we do, it’s seems unlikely. They both care a lot about what Coco thinks of them and her feelings. They both seem normally too responsible to let themselves drink too much at a party like that. And even when drunk I think some of that loyalty would stay true.

The whole point, though, is that neither of them are truly responsible for what happened. Delia is and admits as much. Getting Coco to believe them or even accept a legitimate reason, however, is another matter.

And another potion like that is certainly a possibility. And something I think they’ll have to address in some way.

Well said.

Now that I think about it, this kind of situation (albeit fictional) is yet another example of why I think most people (who can afford one) in today’s modern world should carry around a voice recorder in their pocket. It would rapidly cut down on the number of liars and the frequency of dishonesty.

Then again, if most people did that, this would ruin something like 50% of story plots in fiction. And where would the fun in that be? :D

While I totally agree with you about the voice recorder, I would like to helpfully point out that in a number of states it is a Felony to record someone’s voice without their permission, so be careful. Ironically, it is completely legal to video someone in those states without their permission ( so long as there is no audio) and humiliate them on Youtube. Why? Because politicians are idiots, I assume.

That is a misconception. In most cases third party is not allowed to record a conversation without the persons knowledge unless under the direction of a court. However, a person who is actively engaged in conversation can usually record without the other persons consent depending on who and where the conversation is being held(streets OK, military bases BAD) whether there is a question of implied confidentiality(e.g. priests, lawyers, and spouses), or if they are minors. Though the viability of such documents as evidence are always subject to scrutiny and not likely to be accepted in court.

I think Random Guy is correct. Though, perhaps it depends on state and local laws? At any rate, I’m sure a lot of that makes a distinction between a third party and whether or not one is a participant in the conversation.

As for why lawmakers (i.e., politicians) would be so touchy about hidden microphones and such… It’s pretty obvious WHY, isn’t it? :D (Hint: I don’t think it’s because they’re “stupid”.)

It is illegal everywhere for a 3rd party to record without either party’s consent – that’s generally considered “wiretapping” (even if there’s no “wires”). A number of states only require the consent of one party to record, so obviously if you’re one of the parties, you’re going to consent to record yourself. However, 12 states, as of last I counted, make it a felony to record unless ALL recorded parties give consent. Most of these states provide for exceptions if the recording is in a location where one might not reasonably expect privacy (ie a public meeting) however that judgement of expectation of privacy is generally left up to the whims of the enforcing jurisdiction, so you take your chances.

Also, the reason why I labeled the politicians “stupid” was not because they are concerned about hidden microphones – obviously they don’t want to be recorded themselves – but because they were NOT (apparently) also concerned about videotaping – surely the politicians would not want to be videoed in a compromising situation either, one would think.

Are they not even somewhat responsible for what happened? The question is not whether Tripp would have cheated without the potion – almost certainly not – but whether, even with the potion, they could have resisted if they had really wanted to. Was the potion really so powerful that there was no humanly possible way to resist? Only Tripp, Proxy, and Spinester know for sure….

Why is it funny that she said “chronic”?

Chronic is a common term for marijuana (as she was just talking about being drugged).

And now that the joke it explained… it kinda ruins it. :P

But then, people who already knew probably got the joke before reading the comments. And I’ve never heard of that, myself. :D
