I think the surprise is 1 part “You were in Hell?!” and the other part “You got OUT of Hell?!”
I’m going to go out on alimb and suggest it was his choice in brides when he was alive but it could be that some one upstairs dis likes his stories or probly even more likly sold his doul for unholy scary writing powers
All would be hell-worthy, I think.
