Nice Freaking Job!

I really like the way this strip came out.  A few strips back I started experimenting with a new style of coloring and this is the first strip where it feels like it’s coming together.  While it burns me sometimes that the comic doesn’t look totally consistent from start to finish, one of the really cool things about doing a webcomic is that it is essentially an art diary.  If I’m ever having moments where I don’t feel like I am improving I can look back through earlier strips and really tell the difference.  I want to put out the highest quality strips I can and if that means tinkering with things from time to time it’s worth it for the sake of getting better.

Next strip:  God!

Please take a moment and vote for Tripp at the Topwebcomics icon!  I’ll teach you karate!

If deliah’s plan was to get rid of poe its certainly working. Plus I’m kinda torn about which girl tripp should have. I mean he did say proxy was a pretty red head…its like getting what you want against getting what you need.

I’m sure most guys would love to have a choice like that. :)

I love your art style. It’s very clever how in the strips with Tripp in them, you have the background swirly, but in strips without Tripp, you have it normal.

It also seems that the backgrounds have become gradually less swirly. Is that Tripp coming out of his trip?

Thanks, Puffin! The less swirliness is equal parts Tripp ‘getting used to’ his situation and me getting better at doing real backgrounds and wanting them seen. :)

Hey, Spinester, you’re on the right track with the art. I felt the same thing looking at this strip, “Ah, the coloring is coming together”.

Keep improving and if you stay at it long enough you’re among the best. Have a look at what Questionable Content looked like in the beginning, then what it looks like now, then consider the amount of strips. As of today, 2355 it is… of those big ones. That’s a lot of experience. Let’s hope you get there!

Not sure if I’ll get there with this particular comic but I plan to get there. Thanks for the kind words about the art. I was a complete novice in EVERY respect when I first started this comic so I’ve had to learn to draw, do a website, use photoshop, write gags, etc. That’s a LOT of on-the-job-training. :)

One should never show weakness on the internet. It’s when the Delias start showing up. I am just guessing here, but I would wager that she was an emo forum troll when she was in her teens.

I only meant there’s a finite number of strips in this story, I don’t plan to do it indefinitely like QC.

Not everyone is as crazy, or angry, as Jeph.

True that. Or has such an angry fanbase. I mean, if he’d kill that comic, he wouldn’t be able to get on the internet for years… not to mention his characters would kill him for it. I don’t exactly envy him!

I’m not too glad about finding out that this strip is finite though, these are fun characters! :/

If I had QC’s fanbase and was making a living off comics I’d be happy to do Tripp more than twice a week until I died. :) Don’t worry, though, we’re only roughly halfway through with Tripp. I’m thinking it’ll end around 400 strips or so. I could always change my mind though.

As far as the angry fanbase… The more fans you have, the more angry fans you have.

Coco is right, preventing this thing really is in Poe’s job description as a spirit guide, and he does NOT want to get fired from his job – that’s one Hell of an unemployment line to be in, so to speak…. sorry, had to say it…. :)
