Warning Shot

I knew at some point I’d have Poe yell Nevermore! but it had to be that perfect moment.  This seemed to be the right fit, plus I had a blast drawing Poe in that panel.  :)

Next strip:  Epic!

Here’s my semi-weekly plea for your vote at Topwebcomics.  I really appreciate every vote for Tripp, a sincere thanks for that.

Wait, Delia just *admitted* it? So then what was the point? Once Tripp tells Coco that, won’t she then forgive him? And wouldn’t that negate what Delia’s trying to do?

Remember, Delia’s goal is to get Poe to go back to Hell. Screwing up Tripp’s relationship is good fun for her and all but it’s important that Poe knows it’s her and WHY she’s doing it. And she’s going to continue to try to hurt the people he’s close to. If Poe knows that, it’s all on HIM unless he goes back to hell. :)

Delia may make it to Hell before Poe once Coco finds out she’s responsible. Also – it’s not just you, Tripp, we’re all surprised it’s taken this long :)

I’m not certain I “get” it. By “taken you this long to say it” is he referring to “Nevermore” as in his poem – “Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.’” ?

You’re correct… It’s referring to his famous ‘Nevermore’ from The Raven. It’s probably the most famous line/quote associated with Poe so I’ve been saving it for just the right moment.

I’m wondering: Why doesn’t Tripp or someone suggest they brainstorm and try to figure out a new way for Poe to deal with this hell business? I don’t know… Isn’t there a loophole? I mean, he was tricked. Or maybe they could search for a legitimate spiritual guide to give them advice? Maybe do a Dante thing and journey to Purgatory searching for an answer?

Shhh! you’re gonna ruin the (presumptive) story arc!

Haha, don’t worry, the Hell thing WILL get addressed. It’s a huge part of the overall story so it make take a while to fully resolve it but it will happen for sure.

Tripp really ought to have brought up the issue of Poe’s little problem when he got a chance to talk to God – if anyone can grant a get-out-of-jail-free card it would be God, and it’s not like that opportunity presents itself every day!

They should all sit down and discuss how to deal with Delia, I vote a having her snakes shaved off so she’s just some green bald girl, or call the COD playing robot back can’t remember his name exactly and have him teleport her to like hell or wherever the amazons sent the Narva hahah

In the TV series Room 222, yes I am showing my age with this one, one of the teachers decided to update the classics for a modern generation. When she was asking for opinions on the update, the principal said he grew up with the originals and there was just something majestic when reading”Quoth the Raven ‘Nevermore.’” somehow he felt that it lost a lot when the Raven said “Hey baby not again.”

Guard down? Guard smard, Poe, the ghost, should be able to come up with some macabre and grisly direct attack on Delia, I’m just saying.
